John 4. 1-6

1. When the Lord learned that a report had reached the Pharisees that Jesus was winning and baptising more disciples than John –
2. Although Jesus Himself did not baptise, but only His disciples –
3. Jesus left Judaea and set out once more for Galilee.
4. He had to pass through Samaria.
5. He came to a Samaritan town called Sychar, near the little village that Jacob gave to his son Joseph.
6. Now Jacob’s well was there. Since Jesus was tired after His journey, He sat down on the stone curb of the well; and it was about the sixth hour.
